The Stella Adler Arts Justice Division currently offers two free actor training programs for New York City high school students who qualify as low income (free/reduced lunch recipients).
Adler Youth
What Is The Program?
A free, year-long acting and theater training program. Classes meet six hours a week, after school and weekends in downtown Manhattan. This is a one-year program with a second year by invitation.
What Is The Commitment?
Students must be available for the full year, and must attend all classes. The program runs from September to May.
Summer Shakespeare
What Is The Program?
A free summer intensive, culminating in a production of an abbreviated Shakespeare play. Students train five days a week in voice, movement, ensemble work and scene study.
What Is The Commitment?
Students must be available for the full program, and must attend all classes. The program runs through July and August.
