Three generations of a Jewish family live together in the Bronx at the height of the Great Depression. Will a series of unexpected events bring them closer together or break them apart for good? While they struggle to pay the rent, pay the bills and feed the baby, can they find bigger ideas worth living for?
Coming out of the Stella Adler Studio’s 70th Anniversary year, the HCLAB tackles the breakout drama premiered by the Group Theater in 1935. This production is dedicated in loving memory and appreciation of Ellen Adler.
