Now actors can experience the Musical Theater Intensive remotely online! The Online Musical Theater Intensive is a cutting edge, four-week course providing rigorous musical theater training anchored in the core belief of the Stella Adler Studio, that growth as an actor and growth as a human being are synonymous. Impassioned acting rooted in craft is most essential in the pivotal moment when a scene becomes a song.

Combining current Broadway professionals with the studio’s master teachers, the Online Musical Theater Intensive is a one-of-a-kind experience that integrates performance and analysis of the musical theater form with training in voice and speech, movement for the actor, and effective audition techniques.

Designed for the professional actor with requisite skills in song and dance, the Online Musical Theater Intensive immerses students into a deeper, more precise understanding of their acting ability and development of acting skills while connecting their work with the rest of the world.

Admissions Information

International Students Update
Yes! International actors can apply as long as they intend to do the entire program online and do not plan on entering the US to complete the program.

Admission to the Online Musical Theater Intensive is by audition. Applicants must be 18 years of age or older. Applicant must submit the following:

  1. A completed Online Application Form
  2. Headshot (Photo) and Resume (CV)


The audition should consist of a performance of two contrasting musical selections (one contemporary and one musical standard) that should be no longer than 60 seconds each, as well as one monologue of your choice (realism or classical) that should be no longer than 60 seconds in length.

Video Submissions
After the application is submitted, actors can submit their video audition by uploading the recording to Youtube (unlisted) or Vimeo (password protected) and submitting the share link to the Video Submissions Form.
