Siobhan Doherty

  • Head of Voice & Speech

Siobhan Doherty (she/her) is the Head of Voice and Speech at Art of Acting Studio. She coaches accents and dialects through her company, Speaking of Accents. She also works with Knight-Thompson Speechwork, teaching workshops for professionals and mentoring teachers during certification. She has taught at UC Berkeley, UC Irvine, Hussian College, California School of the Arts, San Gabriel Valley and the Actor’s Studio of Orange County. As an actor, Siobhan has worked on: Love’s Labours Lost, Anything Goes (Utah Shakespeare Festival); Pericles (San Francisco Shakespeare Festival); In the Next Room (or, the vibrator play) (understudied the world premiere, Berkeley Rep); John Proctor is the Villain (staged reading, South Coast Rep); Tell It Slant  (World Premiere, Original Cast Recording, Bootstrap Foundation); Kiss Me, Kate, My Fair Lady, Girl Crazy, Faust (Utah Festival Opera and Musical Theater); Beauty and the Beast, A Little Night Music, Annie, Oliver!, Brigadoon (PCPA Theaterfest);The Tempest (Shakespeare in the Shed); The Hamlet Project (Loose Canon Collective). She was also asked to help develop the concert program and perform Shakespeare’s text with the Grammy-nominated professional choral ensemble, Seraphic Fire, in their Shakespeare, Music and the Bard.  Siobhan also produces commercials, industrials, and award-winning webseries. As a director, Siobhan works in theater and film exploring perceptions of gender through comedy, movement, and voice. Recent work includes Peter and the Starcatcher, workshops of The Boatman and Metamorphoses, Sarah Ruhl’s adaptation of Orlando, and the digital sketch team DAME Sketch Comedy. She also recently appeared as a contestant on Jeopardy! BA UC Berkeley. MFA UC Irvine. Certified Teacher Knight-Thompson Speechwork. Member AEA and VASTA.
