Stephen Dembitzer

Stephen is an entertainment and media lawyer in New York City and Los Angeles.
Representative clients of his firm Dembitzer & Dembitzer LLP include domestic and international content production and distribution companies, entertainment and media companies, Academy, BAFTA and Emmy Award recognized producers, writers, directors, documentary filmmakers, internationally celebrated authors, content creators and contemporary visual artists, entertainment industry executives, high profile IP owners and celebrity brands, and prominent entrepreneurs, financiers, strategic investors and company builders in the entertainment and media space.

Stephen has extensive experience in all phases of content development, packaging, financing, production, distribution and international sales and acquisitions. He and his firm have served as lead counsel on the creation and turning to account of a diverse range of films, television (scripted and unscripted), digital and animated projects, podcasts and other entertainment productions.

Complementing and informing his advisory and legal work, Stephen has worked in motion picture and other entertainment industry production for many years in a variety of capacities both domestically and abroad, including as an executive producer on the multi-Academy Award nominated film “In the Bedroom”, an executive producer on the upcoming Warner Bros./New Line 2024 supernatural thriller, “The Watchers” produced by M. Night Shyamalan and directed by Ishana Night Shyamalan in her feature directing debut, and other studio-based and independent motion picture and television projects. He also served as a senior producer of the 2016 Grammy award winning jazz album, “Cuba: The Conversation Continues” recorded in Havana.

Stephen was also a member of the Board of Directors for many years of Seeds of Peace, an international, youth-oriented conflict resolution program, and has been a voting member of the British Academy of Film and Television Arts for more than twenty years.
