Terrence Carey

Movement and Wellness

Terrence received a Bachelor of Arts degree from the School of Communications at Northwestern University, majoring in Communication Studies and Theatre. He has also received a Masters of Fine Arts in Drama from the Clare Trevor School of the Arts at the University California-Irvine, concentrating in Music Theatre, Dance and Kinesiology.

Utilizing his experience as a theatre artist and movement specialist, Terrence has developed a series of techniques integrating posture, body alignment, core strength, controlled breathing, choreographed and improvised movement as well as nutrition. When practiced cohesively, his system known as SENTRIK, empowers artists to use space and motion to delineate character, situation and relationships.

Terrence has worked regionally in equity productions including “Goya” with Placido Domingo and Gloria Estefan, and toured nationally in “Dreamgirls”. During his tenure as a stage performer, Terrence trained with renowned artists including Uta Hagen, Alvin Ailey, Arthur Mitchell, Mercedes Ellington, Ann Reinking, Nicole Fosse and Chet Walker.
